FAQ

The top 10 most frequently asked questions about Alternatives

Q: What is the guild language of Alternatives?

A: English.

Q: Is the age requirement of 21+ final?

A: Yes! While there is no age restriction in the world that can guarantee maturity, we have found this to be a reasonable threshold. We are a guild of experienced players and thus are looking for recruits that match our demographic.

Q: Do I have to be a raider to join Alternatives?

A: No! We value every guild member equally. No matter if you are a raider or a social. However please keep in mind, that a social membership is not a backdoor to our raid team. Players that join as social members and enquire about a raiding spot a week later will be disappointed.

Q: Is an application on the Alternatives website mandatory?

A: Yes! A formal application is required and can be made here. (Tip: First impressions are important!)

Q: How do I know if I have been accepted?

A: Keep an eye on your application. We usually come to a decision within 7 days.

Q: Do I have to bring my main character to be considered for a raid position?

A: Yes! We don’t doubt that you can master your second character and are an experienced player. However, we have repeatedly made bad experiences with alts, when it comes to reliability and attitude. As a guild, that runs a small, but highly reliable roster, we have decided that we are better off in the long term only accepting main characters for our raid team.

Q: My friends and I are looking for a new guild. Does Alternatives accept group applications?

A: No! We expect an individual application from any potential recruit. You are of course very welcome to make a remark in your application, that you are looking for a guild as a group. In this case, we will accept or decline all of your applications based on the weakest application.

Q: What is your raid goal?

A: The raid goal of Alternatives is “Ahead of the Curve”. We are not a mythic guild.

Q: How about Alt runs?

A: Sometimes. Our Alt run is usually organised by one of our dedicated raiders, who wants a little extra raiding. These runs are usually open for guild member with sufficient equipment. This is however usually demand driven and not a regular guild event.

Q: I still have questions about Alternatives. Is there anyone I can talk to?

A: Feel free to approach any of our officers in-game with your questions.
